BI + Analytics Conference

BI+Analytics Conference (formerly known as SABOC), is a celebration of the people, technology, ideas, and innovations that are powering constant change in the way we live and work.

Imagine for a second, one of these scenarios: giving a presentation on a brand-new idea, sitting with the team evaluating this week’s efficacy, brainstorming with clients to come up with that game-changing strategy, or planning that next big purchase for the department. Many years ago, these may have been decided and completed with very few metrics and limited data. Fast forward to today, where data and immediate strategic insights are imperative to driving real business outcomes and making nearly every decision.

Developing a BI and analytics strategy equipped with powerful capabilities like speed, reporting and insight driven visualizations can provide your business with the strategic edge to succeed.

BI+Analytics gives you access to global thought leaders, local peers, and industry experts using BusinessObjects and the full range of SAP’s analytics and reporting tools. You will learn how to lead with analytics, maximize your current software investments, empower super users and create a BI strategy and analytics team that exceeds the needs of the business. Keep up-to-date on conference content and updates by following @BIAconference on Twitter and @EventfulConfs on Instagram.

Hands-On: You want to get data from where? – Dynamic joins in Information Design Tool 4.2

Many times, in adhoc reporting scenarios, you run into a situation where users would like report on different dates such as transaction date, GL date, posting date and others scenarios.  However, you can only do one type of join in the Universe to support this kind of reporting due to a situation of effective dated joins from FACT to the Dimension tables based on the dates selected. In such situations, where there is a need to do a conditional join among the FACT and Dimension tables, based on the date that they want to report on, we can implement Dynamic joins. Join this session to understand in detail the problem at hand and the creative solution to this problem using very strong features of Information Design Tool 4.2 and higher versions

In this presentation, you will learn how Organic Valley uses an Enterprise Information Architecture, Enterprise Information Management, and Data Governance, along with SAP tools (Power Designer, Information Steward, Data Services, and the BI Suite) to provide a strong foundation for all integration, reporting, and analytics needs.  The cultural change is clear and business benefits are abundant as Organic Valley continues on a multi-year data management journey.
